Problem
You have created a product in WHMCS and you started selling. The business is doing well, when you remember you did not add a yearly support and updates package. When you add the maintenance package to your product, existing customers can not download updates (if your product is downloadable). So you have to come up with a quick solution, to prevent customers from complaining.
Solution
Run our Addon for WHMCS. The script checks if a specified product has an addon package registered in the hostingaddon-table in the WHMCS database. If not, it creates the package with a start- and reneweldate based on the product sold.
Please note: although this addon system is default behavour of WHMCs, this has a major drawback. When customers do not want to pay for updates, they cancel the addon. But if they do, the product also is cancelled. And the license does not work anymore. That is strange. That is why we created the Advanced Addon for WHMCS module.
Your customers can now continue downloading files and they will be billed for support and updates after the (free) year has passed.

The Addon for WHMCS module is free. It is included in the archive of PowerDNS for WHMCS (version > 0.80)
Others can download it from December, 1st, 2011 at our customer portal.

The archive includes three files: a readme.txt, a config.php (for setup of the script) and addon.php (the actual script).
